Engineering students from PUCMM in Santiago will have a new laboratory thanks to Grupo Therrestra

Civil Engineering students at the PUCMM Santiago campus will have a 166 m2 space to carry out internships during their studies.

The Therrestra Group gave the first punch to formally begin the construction work of the Materials Laboratory that will serve to study compaction, asphalt and concrete. And, in addition, they will have facilities for the storage of aggregates, dried and cured.

The president of Therrestra, Ing. Hugo Pérez Ovalles, graduated in Civil Engineering (Magna Cum Laude) from PUCMM, pointed out that his idea is to support the student so that he can easily get his first job. “Going back to my university and being able to collaborate with this expansion project for Engineering students and letting them know that we support them, is my main objective”.

The Academic Vice Chancellor, Mr. Dariel Suriel, stressed that the laboratory project is just one of the other linkage agreements that the construction company has with PUCMM. “This agreement includes civil engineering and architecture students participating in tourism projects carried out by Grupo Therrestra. Also the establishment of the Therrestra Award for Excellence, which will recognize the academic performance of these students, assuming the payment of the educational credit of their studies”.
