Grupo Therrestra will improve the training of future engineers in their university stage at INTEC

Our company specialized in the design, construction and supervision of tourist and residential projects in the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean, gave a donation of RD$5,000,000 to INTEC University, to improve the equipment of its Engineering Area Laboratory, in which annually At least 2,000 students of the Civil and Industrial Engineering university courses receive their internships.

With this delivery, we promote that future professionals enter the labor market as well prepared as possible. “The University is the knowledge base of any professional. Therefore, we are convinced that by improving the space in which they do internships, they will be better able to meet the needs of competitive companies like ours”, said Hugo Pérez Ovalles, president of Grupo Therrestra.

In the TH Construction Materials and Soil Mechanics laboratory, students will be able to evaluate the technical characteristics, physical-mechanical, durability and chemical properties of construction materials, to guarantee their reliability and safety, as well as compliance national and international standards and regulations. "The laboratory will have the best equipment for physical tests, something that will affect the quality of the professional practices of future engineers graduated from INTEC", explained Rolando M. Guzmán, Rector of INTEC.

This donation is limited to a collaboration agreement between both entities that includes joint research projects, support for INTEC's infrastructure master plan, joint training programs, as well as the creation of the Therrestra Award for Excellence for Civil Engineering students.
