Grupo Therrestra participated from April 11 to 13, in the nineteenth Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange fair, DATE 2018, the most important event for the promotion of the Dominican tourist offer.

Mr. Hugo Pérez Ovalles, president of Therrestra, stressed that DATE has established itself as the most important meeting for those who are committed to the country's tourism development. "Events like these serve as a platform for business exchanges that strengthen the tourism sector in the country."

According to official data, the tourism sector is of great importance for the country's economy, since one out of every four pesos generated by the Dominican economy comes directly or indirectly from the tourism industry. In fact, general tourism represents 8% of the country's Gross Domestic Product.

DATE was attended by more than one hundred exhibitors and took place at the Barceló Bávaro Beach Convention Center in Punta Cana, organized by the Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic, Asonahores, and with the support of the Ministry of Tourism. .
